Your skin matters, specially your face. It’s a unique combination of features, muscles and colours that is unlike any other person, it is what makes you, you.
It’s time to put a care routine in place or perhaps tweak your existing routine for better results. Here are a few things i have found to keep my skin healthy and glowing:

Drink water – That’s right, lots of water. Ensure you drink 8 glasses minimum a day. Do not over do it though, as too much water can lead to puffiness and retention.
Face cream – Ensure you have a cream handy specifically formulated for face use. The best kind uses organic ingredients or have a really small ingredient list. This will ensure the best quality product and less chance of irritation or break outs. Use as prescribed, i like using a night cream so that my skin feels nourished after my shower and i will continue to benefit from it through my sleep.
Face wash – Just as stated above regarding the cream, ensure there are not to many artificial things added in the ingredients. Choose a face wash best suited for your skin type for best results.
Remove your makeup – Important, important, important. Keeping your make up on all day and all night is a no no for your skin. During the day you accumulate grime on your face and your makeup will fill your pours, therefore before heading to bed, remember to always remove your make up. Keep some removal wipes handy for those days you are feeling a little lazy and don’t have the energy for a shower of proper face wash.
Sunscreen – A tail as old as time, sunscreen stays true to the cause. Protecting your face from harmful rays, this is a must to maintain flawless skin.
Hydration – Putting nourishment back into your skin is a great way to keep it looking healthy. Cream definitely helps this process, however should you have particularly dry skin, having a nourishing spray is the way to go. A PH balance spray for oily skin also helps keep it in check.
Dealing with spots – Oh no! You wake up to the most horrible spot. Our first instinct is to instantly conceal. The problem is, packing on makeup will only make it worse. If possible, do a make up free day or apply very light makeup. Also invest in a heal type cream or simple home remedies when emergency strikes. Ensure the area is clean and avoid buildup of product for a speedy healing process.

Applying the above and starting as soon as possible, is honestly the best investment in yourself you can make. Having well looked after and radiant skin, will build your confidence and improve your health for years to come.
Till next time…
